Tahiti Playa Hotel & Suites

Our family suite was spacious and beautifully designed, with two balconies and useful extras like a kettle, iron, and ironing board. The bathroom was modern and spotless, and the jacuzzi bath was a lovely touch. The hotel is also very well placed, just a two-minute walk from a strip of shops and the beach, and close to the train station for day trips to places like Barcelona. We had plenty of halal food options and lots of dishes and desserts to choose from. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. They even surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade for my birthday. My family and I had a wonderful short holiday in Europe and would highly recommend staying here.

The entertainment team was so professional, and Giancarlo, the instructor, deserves a big thanks. He got everyone smiling and dancing salsa and bachata, even those of us with two left feet like me 😅. Luckily, he was patient, and it made for an unforgettable experience. The hotel was great for families with little kids, with direct beach access and a lovely children's program. The staff were super helpful and dedicated.

The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. A big thank you to the two girls at reception who helped me when I arrived soaked, the bar gentleman who brought my coffee outside even though I didn't need help, and the two older gentlemen at the entrance to dinner, along with some of the restaurant staff. I'm sorry I didn't get your names. Some others seemed miserable, but I understand not everyone enjoys working while other people are having fun. Your hard work is appreciated, and a smile goes a long way. I enjoyed the hotel and its location, but I wouldn't come back. I felt that management didn't care about customers as long as the money kept coming. The tunnel to the hotel can flood, and I had no idea, so I arrived at reception with wet shoes, socks, and jeans. No one told me there was another way in. If the tunnel is flooded, go a little further down to an open space on the other side and follow the signs to the hotel. I found the route on Google Maps the next day. There's also a loud disco opposite, and the big dinner queues, along with the tunnel and lack of care from management, are all dealbreakers for me. This doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. Check-in was late at 4pm, though circumstances can vary, as they did for me. They offer a Late Room to leave bags and shower, but I can't say how safe it is. Coffee and ice cream prices were acceptable. I didn't drink alcohol, so I can't comment on other prices. Food was tasty and freshly made in front of you, though some dishes repeated. That didn't bother me. Desserts were hit and miss, some very nice and others basic. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast and dinner, and I'm sure everyone can find something to eat. Breakfast got hectic with only two coffee machines and queues, while dinner queues were massive. I don't think that's acceptable in a hotel with over 500 rooms. Cleaning was done daily and towels were changed. I wasn't concerned about the decor, but the beds were comfortable and the pillows were fine, though that's personal preference. Shower pressure was great. Bring your own toiletries, as none are provided, and there's no water in the room on arrival. You can access the beach and come back with your room key card, and the same card is used at dinner. Checkout was easy, but nobody asked if everything was okay, which made me feel they didn't care.

The location is superb, and the drinks are nice with acceptable prices. The night porter is very friendly. I asked twice on Booking.com about late meals but got no reply. Some bar staff weren't very friendly, especially a guy in the lobby bar who seemed annoyed by customers. The food at that bar is a five out of ten. Why add crisps? Salad or at least hot fries would be better. The worst thing is there's not enough sunbeds, and they all have shade umbrellas that can't be closed. You're lying in the shade all day.
