Enjoy Santander - Hostel

The location is hard to beat: the harbour is a few minutes away on foot, the bus station takes about twenty minutes to reach, and an old railway tunnel converted to a footpath is about a ten-minute walk away. That path leads to the beach and then the Palacio de la Magdalena, the former Royal Palace. I spent two nights at Enjoy Santander in a 14-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room, and the room was fantastic. Every bunk has a curtain that covers nearly the full length of the bed, a bright personal light, and a European power socket with a USB port. Mine didn’t work, so I’d bring an adapter. The men’s bathroom was very clean, with three toilet stalls and three showers. Soap was provided in each shower, and the water pressure and temperature were great. There are two common areas, one with tables and chairs and another with comfy seats, plus plenty of books and a secluded patio for some sun. The kitchenette has a fridge and meal prep space, but no cooking facilities. There’s a coin-operated coffee machine, though it makes the coffee with sugar and you can’t change that. The staff were great. Marta at the front desk was friendly and helpful, made me feel welcome, and pointed out landmarks on the big lobby map. She also knows a lot about the nearby Picos de Europa National Park.
