My mother-in-law had booked the apartment at Isabel la Católica 3 in central Santander for Christmas, with check-in set for the 23rd. We’d paid more than a month ahead, but the person supposedly in charge never got in touch. Calls just rang, or were picked up with nobody answering, and by the day before Christmas Eve we kept reaching voicemail. Luckily, we found somewhere else at the last minute. After we contacted Booking.com to get our money back and finally managed to resolve things, someone turned up at 8:30 in the evening without even giving a proper apology. The whole lack of responsibility and empathy was appalling. This was the worst experience we’ve ever had. If you see a Holidea listing on Booking.com, stay away. Never again.
