Hotel Baluma Porto Petro

The harbour is beautiful and the location is excellent for a relaxing break. After asking to move from the first room offered, the room I got was okay. The toilet was a new experience, tucked under a very small sink, and not ideal for seniors with walking problems. There are stairs everywhere and no lifts, something they might mention in the brochure. The staff were still very friendly and helpful.

Be aware when booking that this is a very basic hotel. The towels and sheets were clean, though not immaculate, and the rooms have AC but little sound insulation, so noisy or impolite neighbours can be heard. There’s a pool with a bar and a sky bar. Both are nice, but the service was mediocre when we visited. It’s okay overall, but check the location and don’t pay too much.

We had a really fun stay at this relaxing little harbour. The staff were amazing, the pool felt private and relaxing, and the food and poolside service were awesome. The shower was great, the rooms were clean and tidy, and the AC was on point. No mosquitoes either! The sky bar is super nice and the cocktails tasted incredible, though the presentation could use a little work. The only real downside was the beds, which were really hard and lumpy.

This was by far the worst holiday experience I’ve had. The rooms were tiny, there were cockroaches, and the staff were rude. Reception closes after 12, so I told them I’d arrive late and they said that was fine. When I got there at 2am, nobody was around. I called the emergency number they gave me, but the woman who answered was rude and no help. I ended up waiting from 3 in the morning until 8 for a room, then got told it was my fault. The maids were rude too, barging into the room early without asking, rearranging our belongings, and throwing food away. The pool area is round the corner and up a hill, not attached to the hotel building. The bar and restaurant area was never open, and we were told to use the sky bar, which doesn’t serve food. The sun loungers were extremely uncomfortable, and the pool bar food wasn’t great. Porto petro is so boring and quiet that the only decent options seemed to be the starfish boat trip or taking a taxi or bus to cala'dor.
