We managed to find parking nearby without too much trouble, and the Hostal is in a really good location in cala dor. The lobby vending machine was great. We didn't have any wild parties in the halls, and our aircon and power never got switched off. Our balcony door didn't lock, though. It had shutters that could easily be opened from outside. There was no safe in the room, or glasses or cutlery, which would've been nice to have. The room itself was very basic, with a bed, side table and hair dryer, plus towels and a sheet. Ours faced toward the beach rather than the street, so the noise other people complain about wasn't much of an issue, and earplugs were fine. It'd have been good to change the towels, especially the floor mat because of the water issue. We only got one set for the stay, and there was no staff available to help, though there is a number you can contact. Hostal Talamanca isn't as bad as some reviews say. It isn't a hotel, but having booked, I looked at other places and decided to stick with it. At this price and location it's not bad, though I wouldn't stay again if there were other options around the same price.

One star feels too generous. We were missing a sheet for one of the beds, so we called the service line and asked them to bring one. We had to remind them twice, by phone at 18.30 and 20.30. After that second call, they offered at 21.30 to bring it the next day. They even said someone had gone to the room while we were out at dinner, found no missing sheet, and taken the spare one back with them. Providing a sheet was apparently too difficult. Don't choose Homerti if you're looking for professional, quality service or ordinary hospitality.

It's tucked just off the main restaurant area, but well worth the visit. The food is really nice, and the atmosphere stays calm and relaxed. Service was good and prompt, with waiters who weren't pushy or hovering while we looked over the menu. Highly recommended if you're after somewhere peaceful away from the noisy crowd.

The staff and owners are lovely, knowledgeable and welcoming whenever you see them. There isn't A/C in the rooms, and those facing the street can get hot and noisy because there are several bars nearby.

There are uncontrolled parties here all night, with people screaming and music going until 5 in the morning. Be aware, it's no place for a quiet rest and the noise affects others in the area too.
