Yacht Club Cala d'Or

The manager Robert was friendly and helpful, and made the meal special. When another staff member kept turning up the MP3 speaker, which wasn’t adding much to the atmosphere, Robert eventually spoke to them and we got some peace. The food looked spectacular, though the presentation felt a bit pretentious, and the prices are relatively high. There’s a good varied menu, and the food was tasty and inventive. The location is stunning, especially with the infinity pool, and flaming torches along the paths add to the atmosphere. It seems popular locally for weddings and receptions. It’s amusing that local Spanish speakers don’t know how to pronounce yacht, and the place seems to cater exclusively for British expats and people like them. As an English visitor I enjoyed it, but I think it could appeal more broadly. Some of us want to experience the local culture when we travel.

The harbour is a great spot to stroll around, with plenty of good places to eat and drink. It makes for a romantic, impressive setting for lunch in the afternoon or dinner in the evening.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening in a quieter part of the marina, away from the bustle. The food, drinks and views were all excellent, and the friendly, attentive staff matched the quality of the restaurant. Being able to keep our tab open and move from the dining area down to the drinks terrace for the rest of the evening was a treat. Expect to pay a premium for the food, drinks, service and setting, but we recommend it and think it’s worth it.

The terrace has amazing views across the harbour, and the staff were terrific. Drinks cost about what you'd pay elsewhere, €5 for a large lager and €8 for a cocktail, but sitting in the sun on giant beds with that view felt priceless. Definitely worth popping by in the early evening.
