The house itself is cute, but room 6 was a disappointment after all the positive reviews. It smelled really bad when we arrived, and opening the windows didn't help. Just before bed we noticed mold in a corner. With our small kids along, and it already being late to ask for another room, we slept with the windows open all night. Luckily, we could shut the door between the entrance area with the mold and the rest of the room. In the morning, the shower leaked across the floor.

We spent three days at Casa da Torre Branca after walking 710 km of the Camino de Santiago, and found the peaceful break we needed. We mostly slept, enjoyed nice breakfasts, and had a glass of wine by the fireplace in the evening. We loved the traditional rural quiet. The heating was the one drawback: it kept switching off, so we had to ask each evening for it to be turned back on. With it at +9C outside, the room felt cold, especially on our last night.

Getting to and from Santiago was easy, with a bus right outside the gate for just €1. The farmhouse was lovely and peaceful, and the service was excellent and kind. The staff were so helpful, nothing felt like too much trouble. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We were surprised with an upgrade from a standard double to a family room while staying with our six-month-old. The setting and architecture are lovely, the refurbishment is stunning, the staff are friendly, and the owners made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and we really enjoyed the dinners. Santiago is a 10-minute drive away, and the coast is about an hour away. We wish we could have stayed longer, highly recommended.

A beautifully furnished little country complex in a lovely old farmhouse with historical value. It's a wonderful place to get away from the city centre bustle and use as a base for exploring Northern East Spain. You'll need a car, though.
