Apartamentos Aurelia Antica

The owner gave a detailed description of the surroundings, and there was cold water and milk in the fridge. Those were the good points. The smaller apartment on the lowest level really wasn't worth the money. The front door was very difficult to open and close. Since the building is protected, the apartment has no windows except one facing the street. It got very noisy with people, cars, and especially busses passing by. There was no air-conditioner, and the fan was noisy and broken, despite the lack of windows. The living room photo seems to have been taken with the upper part of the door open and edited to look bright, but nobody would leave it open because outsiders could see inside. In the evening it was much darker. The furniture wasn't very new, and the toilet was dark, with only one ceiling light and a mirror light with a loud fan. Parking at the back of the street made it very difficult to do a 3-point turn at the dead end. I'd suggest using the public car park instead.

We finished our Camino and spent two nights at the apartment on Rua de San Pedro. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. The old medieval building has a lot of charm, and the place is super central, tastefully decorated, and has all the comforts. Maria, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful, even finding us a taxi to the airport on our departure day. We'll definitely stay there again when we return to Santiago ☺️

The larger apartment is a duplex with two bedrooms and a big sofa. It's at Rua do Medio 60 in the old part of Santiago, where the narrow street makes parking difficult, so it's best not to try parking there. There's a very tight public parking lot at the Museum of Contemporary Art/Museum of the Galician People. The apartment has been completely renovated and decorated with taste. From the dining room you can see Rua de São Pedro and the city's atmosphere. Everything is new, and the kitchen is very well equipped, with a dishwasher, juicer, toaster, cookware, and more. There are two bathrooms and a toilet. The owner is lovely, asks what you'd like for breakfast, and stocks the fridge, with a Santiago cake and muffins as a bonus. If the price works for you, it's reasonable for what's offered and an excellent option. They have two apartments, though this is the one I know.
