Albergue Sixtos No Caminho

Very clean hostel and the beds are comfortable. It’s far from the center, and there wasn’t much socializing, especially if you don’t speak Spanish. The showers are a bit odd.

The location is right on the Camino, so you can watch other pilgrims pass by, and the staff were super nice and helpful. I slept well on a sturdy bed with a curtain and locker during my three nights there. The common chill area was good, but the kitchen wasn’t usable for cooking, and there’s no washing machine. You can’t really use your own sleeping bag because of bed bug prevention, so you have to use the provided blanket, which made me a little nervous. For the price, I think there are better options.

My daughter and I had a great stay. The Albergue was fairly quiet, with restaurants and bakeries nearby, and the airport bus stop is less than a five-minute walk away. It’s an easy 15-minute walk to the center. The staff went above and beyond to welcome guests and keep the place clean. I’d definitely recommend it.

For pilgrim standards, this is pretty decent and relatively close to the Cathedral. The metal bed frames make a lot of noise, so it’s hard to be quiet on an upper bunk. A small shelf on the upper beds would also have been useful. Still, those are minor complaints.
