After finishing the Camino, I found the staff excellent, the breakfast good, and the Cathedral an easy walk away. The beds were okay for a tired pilgrim, but otherwise not good. The rooms are small and don’t really have amenities, and there’s no view. Those last points are observations, not really complaints.

A pleasant, helpful reception team, and the room was clean, though small and spartan. The hotel is close to the bus and train stations, with the historic centre an easy walk away. It may also be a quieter place to stay than the lively old centre. For what you get, though, it’s a bit pricey and feels more like a two-star hotel.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, but there was strong chemical smell on the floor because contractors were working outside another room or on another floor. The reception should not rent rooms on that floor when the smell is that strong, and they didn’t tell us about the work at check-in. I could hear the contractors talking to each other, whether through the thin wall or the door.

There’s no restaurant or bar, though the staff will make you a coffee if you ask. Breakfast costs an extra 6.50 and is well worth it. The room was fairly basic but had everything I needed, and the hotel is near both the station and town centre.
