The practical extras stood out, especially being able to leave my backpack for the next day. It’s also well placed for pilgrims finishing the Camino or carrying on, and the price is good for Santiago de Compostela, where places can get expensive quickly. The four-bed rooms are plain but do the job, the bathrooms were clean, and there’s a little lounge downstairs. It’s basic comfort, as you’d expect from a youth hostel. The soap dispenser could be kept topped up, and a proper division between the showers and toilets would help. Still, it’s an affordable, straightforward option for pilgrims.

The bathrooms and showers are limited, but everything was clean. Staff were really friendly, and the location is amazing. I had a great stay, and the place has all the amenities you need.

After our last Camino kilometers, we could leave our bags here before heading to the cathedral for our compostela. The albergue is in a great historic spot, with cosy rooms, nice bathrooms, and a shared kitchen. Getting the front door code and checking in was a hassle, though. We spent nearly 45 minutes trying to reach the front desk. It really shouldn’t be that complicated.

For the price, this is a useful albergue right in central Santiago. There aren’t many restrooms, though most people seem to stay just one night. I was in a four-bed dorm with two other pilgrims, and it got a little warm. The beds were okay, and you need a card to get into the rooms. Even so, I slept worse on plenty of nights during my previous 24 days on the Camino 😉

Breakfast starts at 8.00am, which is too late if you have an early bus or train. Still, this albergue is within 500 metres of the Cathedral, has a TV room, and is linked to the Hotel next door. The services are basic, but the ladies at reception were lovely. I’d highly recommend it.
