Hostal Anosa Casa

The owners, Maria and her husband, are lovely. My single room seemed small at first, but it went back a long way. It was very clean, well organized, had great Wi-Fi, and was right in the center. A perfect affordable place to celebrate finishing the Camino. 10/10. There was a small mix-up when I arrived about the local tax, but that was Booking (com)’s fault. It’s something like 1.25 EUR per night to stay in Santiago’s old town.

The showers were great, and after a strenuous week walking the Camino Portugués, we got a really restful sleep. The beds were super comfy and the windows kept out noise. The only thing I’d mention is that we could hear the receptionist, though never at an unreasonable hour.

Check-in was easy even though I don’t speak any Spanish. The place is central, and the room was clean and cute, with flowers in the windows and a stone wall. The room and bathroom were a little small for two, but not too small. On my last day, they kept my bags for a couple of hours while I wandered around, then called me a taxi. No complaints.

The room was simple and good value, and the location is great. Wi-Fi was horrible on the third floor, at least where I was: it kept switching between good and bad before disconnecting.
