Maria was such a thoughtful, kind host, and an incredible cook. We loved her apple pie, yoghurt with orange, and almond cake. The home was comfortable and peaceful, with every modern convenience. Using the hot tub and then the pool in the November showers was exhilarating. We wanted cooler weather after a hot summer, so we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you, Mariaxx

Maria Jose was incredibly generous, and we loved the welcome touches, including homemade apple pie, a stocked fridge and a bottle of wine. We spent two weeks here in June and had a gorgeous time. The converted 17th-century barn sits in a secluded rural spot, with lovely gardens, a pool and beautiful views of the Galician hills. Santiago’s historic city is still only 10 minutes away by car or bus.

Such a peaceful place with lovely views, just right if you want somewhere relaxing. Maria, the owner, is a wonderful host.

We loved this house and found it had everything we needed. The service was perfect, and the apple tart and pastries were delicious. It was a treat to have proper wine glasses, which doesn’t always happen in a rural guesthouse. The only small drawback was the bathroom, which is partly open to the bedroom and doesn’t offer much privacy. For a short stay, though, that was completely manageable.
