The location was great, with a pleasant ten-minute walk to the city centre, and the price was cheap. We stayed for seven nights in August 2023, and loved the experience. The rooms were cosy, lovely, and clean, with a nice street view from our window and an ensuite. They cleaned our rooms and changed the towels every day, which we hadn't even expected. Gagik and his partner were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive hosts. They'd thought of everything we could need and more. We loved meeting Gagik and being hosted by him, and we'll cherish the experience. We both loved our stay, would definitely return, and would recommend it to anyone.

The staff were so kind and helpful, and they made my stay great. I felt comfortable and worry-free, and as a solo female traveler I felt quite safe. Everyone had a key to their own room, and Santiago itself felt very safe too. I'd seriously consider coming back to this hostel if I return to the city. My single room was clean and tidy, the sheets were clean, and it smelled sooo good when I first walked in. You do share the toilet and shower, with only a sink in your room. The location's perfect: under a minute from supermarkets and a 15-minute walk from any of the main attractions. Great value for money. The walls were pretty thin, so you could hear what everyone was doing, though it wasn't really a problem for me since everyone was respectful and kept to themselves. You also don't have full access to the kitchen, so if cooking matters to you, you might want to reconsider. I imagine, like for me, that won't be an issue for many people.

The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly, and made us feel welcome and happy. ArArAt Hostel was clean and felt very safe, and it's close to everything we needed and wanted in Santiago. We stayed for three nights, and I'd definitely recommend it. It's also near the train and coach station if you're planning to explore other places in Galicia. Will defo be back :)

The owner is super sweet, and the rooms are spacious, clean, cosy, and comfortable. It's a great place to stay in Santiago de Compostela, within walking distance of the city centre. Restaurants, bars, and several supermarkets are right on the street. The airport shuttle stop is just around the corner, too. Only downside was the constant street noise, even at night.
