The rooms look recently renovated and, though compact, have what you need for a night at a very affordable price. It’s a cute little hotel just a two-minute walk from the cathedral. Keep in mind that Thursday through Saturday nights can be loud in a small university city like this, so that’s not the hotel’s fault. If you need real quiet, it’s better to stay outside the city center. Great place!

The bed is comfortable and the shower comes well stocked. There’s no elevator, though, and the air conditioning won’t hold a set temperature. You can adjust it, but it resets.

The room was simple, and the location was excellent, about 18 minutes from the train and bus station. The shower was good, there was plenty of fresh linen, cups for drinking, and extra blankets if needed. Signs were in English, Spanish, and Galician. Check-in took a few extra steps because I had to go to a hotel around the corner with 24-hour reception. I had a very pleasant conversation over the intercom and got directions, but it was in Spanish, so non-Castilian speakers might have trouble. I didn’t read the sign carefully, and I also missed the email that may have explained the instructions. The receptionist was lovely and interesting to talk to. I appreciated having one key card for both the main entrance and my room. On leaving, you just drop the card in a box. I was only there for five hours, but it covered everything I needed and more.

A peaceful, welcoming place to rest and recharge before seeing this amazing city. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been better.

The location is everything, very close to the church. The room was small but clean, and the bathroom was a great size. There’s no lift, so you need to be able to carry your bags upstairs. We weren’t expecting to check in at Rua Villar hotel and found that a bit confusing, especially having to take our luggage there. Reception service was exceptional, with helpful information and recommendations, and they booked us a taxi.
