Italica Hostel

The room, bed, and toilet were very clean, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond. The hostel was farther from the city centre than we expected, but easy enough to reach by bus. The problem was sharing our mixed dorm with workers who didn’t follow basic etiquette. They made phone calls at 23:15 and spoke loudly, then kept going in and out every five minutes in the morning while looking for something. They were also loud just outside the room. We stayed two nights and slept badly both nights, even with earplugs and sleep masks. We wouldn’t have minded workers staying in the room if they’d been told how to behave in a shared dorm.

The bathrooms were good, with big showers, and the rooms were pretty comfortable with outlets and lights. But there was no airflow, so they felt stuffy and smelled bad even in October. The bathroom light sensor is all over the place, so be ready to shower in the dark. The kitchen is sufficient, and you can hand wash laundry. The patio was being renovated when I was there. It’s a great spot in a town just outside of Seville, especially if you’re interested in Roman ruins and the like. For the price, I’d recommend it.

I liked my stay at Italica hostel, even though I wasn’t there much. It’s a 40-minute bus ride from Seville. The staff were accommodating, especially when I had to change my booking and arrive late at night. The kitchen wasn’t the best for cooking, but the bedrooms and bathrooms were good.

This felt like a place where I could settle in and feel welcome. I missed it as soon as I left! As a pilgrim, I’d recommend staying here. Great atmosphere and nice people, plus wow, the beds are new. The bathroom was so nice, and they provided a towel, bed linen, and a locker. There’s a cosy kitchen and nice handmade jewellery too.
