We’ve stopped here a few times on the way to the ferry, and it’s a welcome pause after the long drive through Spain. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they found us a room with a walk-in shower. Dinner was lovely: we splurged on the roast suckling lamb, which cost no more per person than the other menu dishes, and the patas a la probre were just as good. I tried not to think about its cousins hopping around in the field across from our home in the Yorkshire Dales. The rooms feel a little dated, and finding a socket to charge your phone takes some searching. There’s also some road noise if you want to sleep with the window open, but it doesn’t bother us.

A good place to stop while travelling from Bilbao. The cafeteria has a nice atmosphere, and the staff were helpful. There’s a secure car park, and the grounds are well kept. The hotel looks like somewhere we might stay on a future trip.

We had a good room, excellent service from the staff, and breakfast was just what we needed on our trip from Santander to Costa Del Sol. My only gripe was that I booked the wrong date for a couple of weeks later. I tried to fix it within an hour, but Expedia said there could be no change or refund.

We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and luxurious the rooms were for the price. The grounds are nice, and our two little dachshunds were very welcome. It’s a convenient place to stop while driving from Spain to Calais, and good value for money. We’d stay here again on a road trip.
