I came away with mixed feelings. The family running the hotel are lovely, and I hope they can sort out a few things that would make the place even better. The main issue was the smell in my room. It was clean, but something about the cupboards or furniture seemed to cause a bad odor that stayed the whole time, even with the windows open all day. That smell made me less inclined to spend time in the shared areas, and gave me the impression the hotel needed a deep clean. Downstairs, the building is packed with collections of old, unusual things, almost like an unexplained museum. With objects filling every bit of space, keeping everything clean must be difficult. Some old chairs also had upholstery that smelled unpleasant, and some of the furniture seemed more like collectibles than something for guests to use. There were plenty of good points. The room had a modern, clean bathroom and a shower with strong water pressure. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the building. Breakfast and dinner were both good, and the evening meals changed from day to day. I enjoyed them all, and the family members working in the restaurant were consistently excellent with customers. The place has a very distinctive feel as soon as you walk in. I’m sorry to give it three stars, and I do wish this family-run hotel well.

This place has a special atmosphere, good food, and decent rooms. The same family has run it across generations for 85 years, and I’ve been coming for 30 years myself. I still plan to return. I haven’t found another place like it, especially in the Pyrenees. Highly recommended.

I was here with a group, and the staff were very helpful whenever we needed something. The hotel was great overall. The rooms were good, though the food was just okay.

The surroundings are lovely. Just keep in mind that while some rooms have been refurbished, others haven't, which may matter especially if you're tall.
