A really great spot!

A terrible experience, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We arrived before check-in time and were allowed into the hotel early, and the pool was in good shape. Things went downhill once we reached the rooms. We checked the bed out of habit and found hair and stains on both the sheets and pillows. Since we'd booked two rooms, we inspected all eight towels too, and they were filthy. At reception, they changed the sheets, but the cleaning staff had to fetch replacement bedding twice because the supposedly clean sets were dirty as well. We needed and were entitled to eight towels, but they gave us only four. Behind the furniture and around the toilet was caked with dirt, as if it hadn't been cleaned in months, despite the overpowering bleach smell. After a lot of insisting, we got the rooms changed. They still wanted to charge us an extra €15 because the new rooms were supposedly better. We checked those too, and even in the more expensive, modern rooms the towels were badly stained. The staff, especially the managers, didn't bother to apologize or seem to care at all.

The sewage smell from the bathroom was the worst part. It made the room hard to be in. There were other problems too: the hallway light switch had come off, the key took force to turn in the door, a spider was on the ceiling, parts of the floor were dirty, and the bathroom light didn't work. There was no air conditioning or fridge, which was a real issue because our medication needed to stay cool. We also found hairs on the sheets when we turned the bed down, and the stained towels were stiff and rough. We'd booked at the last minute because there weren't many places left in Sanxenxo. The hotel looked old but seemed acceptable at first. We arrived 15 minutes before check-in and were told to wait, while the couple behind us were checked in right away and got a much more renovated part of the hotel. Breakfast was varied and good, though on the morning of August 6th I happened to get a muffin that had expired two days earlier. It would help to have milk jugs available, since we had to ask staff whenever we wanted milk and they weren't always in the dining room. The staff were friendly, and there are two parking lots. Maybe we were just unlucky with our room, but we left quite disappointed.

We got a simple, roomy room with a TV and refrigerator, though we'd asked for a double bed and ended up with three singles. Noise from other rooms carries through, and some of the towels are very old and due for replacement. The hotel is a little dated, but it has plenty of parking and a swimming pool. It's right at the entrance to Sanxenxo, handy for visiting nearby towns, with a supermarket close by. Good value for the price.
