Lucia and Sebastian were the best part of our two nights at Casa Acougo. They’re incredibly kind and generous, and went out of their way to make us comfortable and help with whatever we needed. Their meals were our favorites of the whole roughly 12-night Camino. Sebastian is a real artist in the kitchen, and the food, made with local specialties and presented beautifully, was a treat. We left thinking about the place already, and feel lucky we got to stay there. Thanks for welcoming us into your beautiful Casa, Lucia and Sebastian! The setting is lovely, on a hill above a meadow and rolling countryside, a few kilometers east of Sarria and right on the Camino. You can enjoy those views from the house or while wandering the grounds. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the beds very comfortable. My wife and I stayed in September 2025, and it was easily the nicest place of our entire Camino. We loved it. Sincerely, Scott and Dana (from Wash. DC)

Dinner and breakfast were made with so much care, and both were far better than we expected. Lucia and Sebastian welcomed us into their beautiful home, where the lovely rooms gave us a peaceful rest. There are common spaces where guests can spend time together. I’d highly recommend a stay at Acougo, 11 out of 10!

On the Camino, we found a place to rest and feel cared for in a way that stayed with us. There was time to pause and reflect, and we left with full hearts, already hoping to return someday. Lucia and her family made this feel like a home away from home. The warmth began as soon as we arrived. Lucia greeted us so sincerely, and she and her husband have made a retreat full of generosity and genuine character. Their conversations, lovely meals, and advice for the next stretch of the Camino all felt personal and thoughtful. The room was a peaceful little sanctuary, with windows opening onto the Galician countryside and its gentle sounds. Every detail blended rustic charm with comfort. Just outside Sarria beside the Camino de Santiago, the place felt like a lovely secret we were lucky to discover. It became far more than a stop on our journey, and a memory we’ll carry for a long time.

We were there for one night on September 14, and it was pure bliss 😊. The owners were welcoming and helpful, the place was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. The building itself put me in a good mood as soon as I walked in. We also really enjoyed the fresh, tasty food.

I had to leave early, but Lucia and Sebastian made sure I had something for breakfast, putting a paper bag out for me. That was such a thoughtful touch for this little pilgrim with dusty clothes and a grubby backpack. Their dinner was memorable too, with great local ingredients and food from different regions farther south in Spain. I’ll remember it for a long time. The two of them are such caring, kind hosts. Their peaceful, carefully considered Casa near Sarria, along the Camino Frances, was just as restful as Samos after I walked on from there. I didn’t want to leave, and the experience made the last days of my five-week journey even better. Thank you both.
