Cortijo del Cura

The rooms were spacious, and we had plenty of room in the two houses we rented for 10 people. The olive grove setting was interesting. Getting inside, though, was a frustrating mess. We’d already completed a registration form before arriving, but nobody was there, and I found out I had to fill it in again on another website to get the key and apartment codes. No one picked up the phone for 25 minutes, and we were left wondering if we should look for another hotel. It was cold and we were soaked, with daytime temperatures around 7 degrees Celsius. After about 30 minutes, entering each house separately on the registration site finally got us the code for one building. When I asked about the second unit, the woman at the office said we’d only booked one and sent me to Booking.com. About 25 minutes later she confirmed we had booked the other one too, but it took another 20 minutes on the registration website to get its key code. In weather that cold, it would have helped if the heaters had been turned on before we collected the keys. It was freezing, and the place didn’t warm up until the next day.

We spent New Year’s Eve here with the whole family and had a great time. The houses are cozy, and the kids really enjoyed themselves. We’ll definitely be back.

Everything was clean and well equipped. There are lots of places of interest and supermarkets nearby.

It’s a great base for visiting Cazorla, tucked among olive groves and only 500 meters from a large pine forest with hiking trails. We appreciated being able to bring our dog. The rooms are independent, with a kitchen and rustic decor. Guest management could be better. I stayed in the Segura room from August 15th to 16th, 2024.
