La Perseverancia

Casa Azúcar was a cosy little house where I stayed with my daughter and our dogs. It was quiet, clean, and well kept, and I especially appreciated that pets are allowed. The garden is huge. It's also very close to Sepúlveda and the Hoces de Durán gorge, which is great for canoeing and hiking. Fantastic stay. Thanks, Berta.

The condition of the house felt neglected, and the cleaning was very poor. There were cobwebs across the ceiling, on the lamps, and in several corners, while the oven and extractor fan were greasy and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The country house didn't live up to the listing's description or our expectations. The garden also looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com, which gave a very different impression from what we found. It's a shame, since the surroundings have potential, but the lack of cleanliness and maintenance spoiled the stay.

Berta was a cheerful, lovely host who made the check-in and check-out times clear and gave us great suggestions for places to visit and eat. The house was spotless, spacious, and tastefully decorated. Everything was wonderful, and I'd highly recommend it.

The village was incredibly peaceful, and the surrounding area is beautiful. We had a marvelous weekend, enjoying breakfast in the lovely garden and doing yoga outdoors. The house was comfortable, though you should expect to share a room with other people.
