There's a lovely sense of calm in this traditional village house. The owner has kept its character, with stone walls and old furniture, while adding a few modern touches. It used to belong to his grandparents, who were my grandparents' wet nurses. Ask Artur to tell you the family story, he's a great conversationalist and always helpful. I stay here again every year. Serra is a mountain village with fresh air, close to Valencia and the beach, which makes it a really special spot.

We had a lovely few days in this well-equipped little country house in the old part of Serra. Artur, the owner, made us feel very welcome, and we'd definitely come back sometime.

Artur set us up with a full breakfast every morning and gave us useful hiking route tips right from day one. My partner, Javier, and I spent a few days there during Easter week, with the house to ourselves, and went on some wonderful hikes in Sierra Calderona Natural Park. We felt really comfortable throughout. The atmosphere, the setting and the place itself were all top-notch!
