The outdoor garden is comfortable and gives you a quiet place to sit. The apartment is also away from street noise, and the beach and main transport stops are only minutes away. For a family looking to stay near the beaches, it’s a reasonable choice, as long as you’re not fussy. The basics are provided, including a microwave, induction hob, refrigerator and hairdryer. There’s also a hose for rinsing the outdoor floor. With the humidity, cockroaches can appear, so we suggest leaving lights on in the evening and using the air conditioning to keep things cool. Mosquitoes can be a problem at night, as they are throughout the area in this climate. Restaurants nearby are expensive because it’s a tourist area, but local supermarkets are only a few metres away, though they aren’t the big international chains.

We found huge bugs in the room, and there was no hygiene at all. Random people banged on the door and made threats. It was a truly awful experience, with nobody answering or taking responsibility for anything.

We were lucky to only sleep there. The apartment was in a basement and smelled of mould, and it was dirty everywhere with ants all over. It had only the bare minimum, an extremely uncomfortable bed and a dilapidated bathroom. It was noisy, and the outdoor patio smelled like cat pee. I’d absolutely avoid it. lemar would be better called lemerd!
