Casa Cueva "Las Calcetas"

The sauna and lovely hot tub upstairs were a real highlight, along with the cozy bedroom. Downstairs, there’s a practical, modern setup, with a small kitchen that has what you need to cook, plus a pellet stove and big TV for chilly evenings. We spent three days here in December, including the 24th and 25th, in this charming little mountain village in Cádiz. The house was lovely, and the welcome touches were great. Service and communication were excellent from our first contact. It’s worth leaving the car in the lot right below the house, for less than €10 per day. We’ve recommended the place to a couple of friends and would book it again if we return to Setenil. A really delightful stay.

Patricia is lovely, and her advice helped us enjoy Setenil and the nearby villages. The house had everything we needed, and its spot on the rock beside the pedestrian exit from the parking lot made it easy to reach. We had a wonderful few days in one of the most beautiful villages I’ve visited. Thanks to everyone for everything.

The apartment has a striking rock ceiling and two spacious floors, and it was very clean. The village felt about half uninhabited, which made for a uniquely peaceful stay. There’s free parking in town, though the streets are very narrow. People were friendly, and we found a decent restaurant across the river from the apartment, considering where we were.

Even with 38 degrees Celsius outside, it was cool enough inside that I needed a blanket during an afternoon nap. The rooms with stone ceilings are breathtaking, and the house feels nestled right into the beautiful stone. It lacked nothing, and Patricia, the owner, is a delight. Spectacular, highly recommended.
