The setting is what we’ll remember most: La Molina sits in a valley between rocky cliffs, with a stream running through it. There are vegetables, flowers and leafy trees, plus hammocks in the shade. We spotted bats and an ibex, and enjoyed the hosts’ gentle dogs. Our yurt was spacious and charming. The whole place is a lovely example of off-grid living close to nature, and the atmosphere was peaceful, private and relaxing. The kind hosts made us feel welcome. Setenil village is an easy walk away, with plenty to see and eat.

We spent a week in one of La Molina’s cottages in June 2024, and it was a relaxing, interesting holiday. The cottage was comfortable and cozy, with a little garden out front where we could sit and read. We appreciated the place’s commitment to eco values. Karin and Carola were positive, helpful hosts. They lent me a guitar and were around whenever we had a request. With our car, we took day trips to Ronda, Olvera and Cadiz, and explored Setanil, which is an easy walk away and has a good bakery. I also walked the Via Verde, a disused railway track in Olvera. We didn’t see any turtles in the stream, but did spot lots of birds, including a hoopoe close by on the cottage path.

I stayed in Casita Azul, a lovely, authentic Spanish studio with an ensuite bathroom and everything I needed. La Molina is in a heavenly spot, and the owners clearly care about ecological living. It was so peaceful and restful that I could happily spend time there just enjoying the natural surroundings, though it also worked well as a base for exploring the area. Karin and Carola were kind and friendly, and gave me lots of recommendations. They really made my visit. Thank you, I’ll be back!

Such a lovely place to switch off completely. No rushing or stress, just amazing nature and friendly people and dogs. I had an amazing time relaxing here.

An eco paradise, with guesthouses, caravans and camping. It’s family-run, with love for nature and the little details. Peaceful, and lots of private space.
