Hostal Puerta Medina is in a very handy spot for exploring Sigüenza on foot, just a short walk from the cathedral. It was a pleasant stay: welcoming, clean, and peaceful, and the historic center made a relaxing base.

We were here in early January, and the historic building right in the city center made it easy to go sightseeing and wander around. Our room had a double bed, TV, toilet, and shower. The bed was clean, though sleeping with a sheet and a blanket because there was no duvet cover felt a bit like being on a reserved-seat train. The bathroom was clean and in good condition, with towels, shower gel, and a hairdryer. There’s also a shared kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker, but no kettle, so bring your own tea and coffee. The hostel was clean and comfortable overall, with a few small things that could be improved. 09-10.01.26

The location was hard to beat, right by the Cathedral, beside the tree-lined promenade where there are often beach bars or parties, and at the foot of the hill up to the Parador. We didn't have breakfast, which started at €7, and chose to eat out. When we arrived, they answered the intercom straight away, showed us what we needed to know, and handed over the keys. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely return.
