I really wouldn’t recommend this place. It’s far from Valencia, so you need to take a train for about half an hour to get to the center, and there are no more trains after 10 p.m. It’s in a small town with nothing to do. The pension bar barely works, so eating there isn’t reliable; the only other option is the street vending machine. To reach the room, you go up stairs beside a wide-open window that looks into the hotel owner’s bedroom, which feels like he’s watching all the time. Most importantly, someone opened my suitcase while I was away and moved things around inside. I’ll report them to the police as soon as I can. Alberto

It’s a quiet, fairly comfortable hostel. There are places to get breakfast, lunch, or dinner if you’d rather eat out, though people often say the food at the hostel is quite good. Getting to transport takes a bit of a walk, including the Valencia bus or train station.

I’m from the village, so I’ve never stayed at the hostel, but I can speak to the bar. I think it may be closed now or have changed its hours, since I never see it open. The service was always excellent, and my father wouldn’t go anywhere else when we went out for a drink. The bar was very clean and tidy, and the coffee was exquisite, at least to me. Breakfast and lunch were much the same. I’ve never eaten there, but they used to offer a daily set menu and takeaway food, even on weekends. We ordered dinner at Christmas, and I was pleasantly surprised: everything was perfect, delicious, cooked just right, and full of flavor. It’s a very good bar in the hostel, and you don’t have to be staying there to go.

Updated: The hostel is in the town center, and you book directly with the establishment. The rooms have Wi-Fi. Under the hostel’s rules, only guests can enter. It used to have a bar and restaurant; these days the bar only opens occasionally for guests. The staff are friendly and attentive.
