Hotel Can Joan Capó - Adults Only

The made-to-order breakfasts were a highlight, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We loved staying in Sineu, a quiet, charming town with little alleyways and historic buildings to explore, since we didn’t want to be on the touristy coast. Our honeymoon stay at Hotel San Joan Capo was amazing. The small hotel and its staff made the place feel homey, and everyone took special care to check in and offer recommendations while still giving us space to enjoy the trip. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was outstanding, with high-quality, very fresh food and made-to-order dishes you could keep ordering. The orange juice was especially fresh. You’ll probably want an hour to enjoy it. The hotel has two adjacent buildings, but only one has an elevator. If you have mobility issues, contact them days ahead so they can arrange for you to climb fewer stairs. If you miss replying to their booking message, the responsibility is yours. We also tried dinner during a big town festival. The front desk told us no restaurants would be open that night, so the chef or hotel owner was going to make a special tapas dinner exclusively for hotel guests. We signed up right away for the €69 per person meal, expecting it to be the highlight of our trip. I’ve attached the menu and food for reference. The flavour was okay, but the ingredients were very ordinary, and I couldn’t see how that justified the price. We only got a few scoops of rice, not a whole pan of paella. If you eat in the courtyard, bring bug spray. I got 10+ mosquito bites during the two-hour dinner, and they were still itchy days later. Maybe I’m taking it personally, or maybe racism towards Asian people is normal in Spain, but we didn’t feel warmth or hospitality from the chef. When she brought food to our table, she never smiled, while she seemed happy at the other tables.

We’re avid cyclists, so the fully equipped bike room with tools was a rare and valuable feature. It made planning rides around the island easy. The food was excellent and made us feel at home, and the afternoon “wine and surprise” was a lovely touch. Can Joan Capó in Sineu has a welcoming, calm atmosphere. The staff were authentic, knowledgeable, and approachable without intruding, and you can feel their passion. Our room was spotless, fresh-smelling, and at a comfortable temperature. The decor throughout is beautiful and thoughtfully put together, creating a warm, stylish feel. We’d wholeheartedly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone looking for Mallorcan character with refined comfort. We left feeling inspired and relaxed.

The pool area was quiet and surrounded by local plants, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed here last September during our bike trip around Mallorca. There’s a secure bike area with electricity for charging e-bikes. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. Highly recommended.
