Casa Grande de Anllo

The €100 deposit still hasn't been returned, even after several calls. We booked in June, then had to cancel a week before our stay because of a family issue. The manager said the deposit would be refunded, and we called more than once to confirm, but nothing was paid back. Three months later, when I called again, I was told they definitely wouldn't refund it. The amount itself isn't significant, but this left me with a clear impression of the owners' lack of trust and professionalism.

A charming dream hotel, in a beautiful and very quiet location. The lady was friendly, and the whole place was impeccably cared for, with well-preserved antiques and fresh-smelling sheets. There's a dining room guests can use whenever they like, provided they respect everyone else, so eating in your room isn't necessary. The house rules make sense to me, including closing the door: it's a small town, and anyone coming to party, drink, and stay out late probably shouldn't choose this place. If you're rude, messy, disrespectful, or looking for trouble, it's better for everyone if you don't come. 🤍

I'd love to come back and spend a few days in this 1800s house. The linen sheets and curtains are spectacular, and the rules seem well-intentioned. These days, people don't look after facilities much, and thanks to her character, the lady has kept the house feeling frozen in time. She was very kind, even though we arrived late at night. Thank you, Mrs. Genoveva, for looking after your heritage. If the rules aren't for you, don't stay here.

The homemade breakfasts were excellent, and you can tell how much care goes into everything. Geno, the owner, is a delight and pays close attention to her guests. The house is lovely, traditional, and beautifully maintained, with real attention to detail. It's also a great base for visiting Galicia's points of interest. We were very happy with our stay and would happily repeat it.
