Hotel Duque de Gredos

Shameful. The food was frozen, low quality, and badly cooked, and the prices seemed to depend on whatever they felt like charging. The waitresses tried to change the prices on the boards, and they didn't have half of what they advertised, as if it were a marketing ploy without the ingredients to back it up. It's unbelievable to get such poor service and junk food in a location like this. Go if you're thirsty, but never if you're hungry. They may be the least friendly people in the area.

It's a peaceful place and well located for visiting the Jerte Valley. The rooms were very clean, the staff friendly, and the restaurant had all kinds of food, though prices were a bit high. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything, but the hotel is small and not very crowded. Good value for money, and I'd stay again.

Never again! The sheets were stained and covered in hair, and the light in our room didn't work. We left as soon as we woke up to avoid any more surprises. This was after paying 75 euros for a tiny room overlooking an alley. We had asked the owner for somewhere to eat, and they said the hotel restaurant served individual portions but had no menu. A portion of croquettes, baby squid, and four beers came to 30 EUROS, hardly cheap. Shameful!

The views of the area are spectacular, and the people were lovely. Service was perfect, and being able to bring your pet was ideal. Highly recommended.
