Ca S'Hereu

A lovely place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by. It's in a fabulous setting by the old church in the square at Son Servera.

It's a beautiful protected house in a lovely, central setting, but the service was very basic because there weren't enough staff. The swimming pool shown in the picture belongs to the neighbor and can't be used. Breakfast could use more plates and cutlery, and there wasn't enough bread. The coarse bread was dry and inedible. The toaster was slow and could only handle one or two slices at once. The coffee maker was slow and partly defective, kept pouring water into the cup, and came without instructions for use or emptying the capsule tray. There was nowhere to buy drinks, wine, beer, coffee, tea, or snacks. Even if you bought things in town, there wasn't a proper glass available. I wouldn't call this a two-star hotel, at most it's a B&B with poor service.

A beautiful, very quaint day out.

The Almond Blossom Festival is held on the first Sunday in February, and you shouldn't miss the Mallorcan folk dance around midday, with its singing and music. There's also a folk music group playing, plus lots of tasty almond treats and other specialties.
