Catalonia Del Mar - Adults Only

It's a great spot on the marina, and reception staff were very helpful. The pool area is lovely, though the sunbeds could use cushions. Most of the adults-only guests were over 50 and would have appreciated more comfort. The ground-floor rooms are very spacious for disabled guests, but need modernising. The hotel calls itself four-star, but to me it feels like three. The buffet had a generally good choice, though little for vegans, and the food wasn't hot enough. Entertainment began at 9:30 pm, by which time most of the over-50 crowd was in bed. Still having a good holiday so far.

The location is great, the staff are lovely, and so are the bedrooms. The food lets the hotel down: breakfast was okay, but everything at dinner from the buffet was cold and it doesn't feel up to four-star standard.

The reception staff were excellent, friendly and helpful with local advice. The pool was pleasant and lovely and clean, with a lifeguard there all day. It's a quiet resort during the day, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bars for the evening. We'd recommend a stay and will return. We spent a week at hotel catalonia and really enjoyed our harbour-facing room. From the large terrace, with sunbeds as well as a table and chairs, we watched small boats come and go during the day. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, and towels and other items were changed daily.

We were happy enough with our stay for the reasonable price, and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. The bar staff especially stood out. The rooms are basic but functional, and our bed was clean and comfortable. It was good that the safe and air conditioning were free, and the shower had strong, reliable pressure. The location is peaceful and picturesque, right on the harbour. The hotel advertises itself as four-star, but felt more like three, or even less in some respects. Housekeeping could have been better, and noisy staff in the mornings made it hard to sleep in. We booked half board, had breakfast each day and one dinner. There was enough decent food, but the menu didn't change much, so you'd need to be fine with repetitive choices. The pool is small; the sunbeds were a bit grubby, though we always found one. Our key cards had to be reset three times in one week, which was frustrating, especially on the top floor. For simple accommodation, friendly service and a peaceful setting, Catalonia del Mar is good value. Don't expect luxury, and bring some patience for the small hassles.
