Hotel Ilusion Moreyo - Adults Only

The pool area lacked much atmosphere, and we didn’t find it as relaxing or enjoyable as we’d expected on holiday. More seriously, there was no lifeguard. We had to help a guest who got into serious difficulty in the water, which raised a real safety concern. We’d booked a fabulous suite, and the property itself is beautiful, spotless and extremely well maintained. Staff were attentive and professional throughout. Miguel, the hotel manager, was happy to help, his English was fantastic, and any problem was dealt with straight away. The food choice was very limited and didn’t cater well to English guests, making meals difficult. Better variety, pool safety and atmosphere would make a big difference.

The sea-view room was lovely, and while we could hear a little noise from nearby bars, it didn’t bother us. The rooms were spotless and we could get fresh towels as often as we wanted. The hotel is only seconds from the beach, and the pool and spa were lovely too. We had a brilliant stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was amazing with a great choice every day. Couldn’t have asked for more. We’d definitely return and recommend it.

The location is good and the service was good, though the food was only adequate. Rooms feel like easy hotels, with the same shortage of space. The toilet would be difficult to use if you were a larger person. There’s a small bar by reception, and the pool is barely more than a splash pool, with a cold jacuzzi beside it.

The hotel is very clean, the staff are great, and it isn’t too expensive. For the price, though, I’d call it three stars compared with other hotels. The views from the outdoor dining area are amazing, but the dining room is too small and gets crowded, especially when bad weather keeps people inside. The building work opposite and a British bar nearby meant there wasn’t much peace in the rooms, from 7am until midnight. It was manageable since we were out much of the time. If you like a morning walk and then sunbathing in the afternoon, you may struggle: when we visited at the beginning of May, only about 10% of the loungers were in the sun between 2 and 5pm.
