They even picked me up in Los Arcos and took me back in the morning, which made staying somewhere so out of the way easy. The woman who says she does everything was lovely, and the food was plentiful and really good. Dinner was a big salad with mozzarella, tomato, lettuce and local asparagus, then a stuffed pork tenderloin. There was a great choice of wine and beer to buy for next to nothing, and breakfast was generous too, with yogurt, honey, toast and homemade tortilla. Loved the place and the hotel.

What makes this place feel like more than an average hostel is the proprietress, who is warm, kind, and clearly takes pride in looking after her guests. The inn sits in a quiet, idyllic village, and everything is immaculately clean and in fantastic repair. Rooms are well appointed, the common areas are lovely, and breakfast was amazing, with very fresh local food.

We had dinner and breakfast there, both lovingly prepared with delicious local food, and there were good local wine and beer choices too. The hosts were so nice to us, an American couple who speak very little French. Our room was lovely, with huge windows that open easily onto long views of the neighboring villages and countryside. The whole place was absolutely enchanting, full of historic charm. We’ll be back for sure.

A really nice stop on our Sep Camino. The Hostal was so beautiful, beyond what we expected, and left a strong impression.

The setting is spectacular, with endless walks, hilltop churches and monasteries, vineyards, and small historic towns and villages. The photo is the view from a walk up to a church, looking down on the village of twenty people where the hostal is. Our hostess also drives Camino walkers a few miles to and from the route and restaurants, and dogs are welcome. There are no carpets, which helped when one of our dogs got muddy. It's a lovely old building, peaceful and full of history, yet comfortable and clean. We had a good bed, a well kept bathroom, and a good shower with plenty of hot water. The underfloor heating felt like a luxury. The communal living and eating rooms are a bonus, with a microwave, toasters, kettle, tea and coffee, and fridges stocked with beer and soft drinks for purchase. Our hostess was organised and pleasant, and made us a great breakfast: omelettes, fresh squeezed juice, fruit, orange cake, meats, cheeses, and local breads. I don’t normally write long reviews, but it’s just such a great place!
