The bed was a real treat. I’ve rarely slept as well as I did on that mattress. I’d stay here again on my next visit to Sos del Rey Catolico. From the outside the small hotel is rather inconspicuous, but inside it feels like an oasis. The lovingly made furnishings are a matter of taste, but I liked that they were different. The rooms are very clean and decorated in the same style as the rest of the hotel, and the bathroom is modern and high quality. The housekeeper lovingly handles check-in, the rooms and breakfast. Breakfast could have had more choice, but we were full and there was plenty of freshly brewed coffee. They also offered to keep our motorcycles in the garage, which we gladly accepted. The decor is like a museum, as the name suggests, haha. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was great, and the service was excellent. Everything was spotless. I highly recommend it.

We were left outside in the cold for two hours or more, right at the door, ringing the bell and calling. We had a baby with us, and Booking.com couldn’t get in touch either. Nobody answered the door or the phone after we arrived, even though we had booked and paid through Booking.com. I still wonder why they left us stranded like that. It was a horrible experience, unlike anything that’s ever happened to me. It was even worse because it was the medieval festival weekend, when everything else was already booked with so many tourists around. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

The hotel has a really lovely interior, full of paintings and a few sculptures, and it feels very welcoming. It was €75 for an overnight stay in Sos del Rey católico with breakfast. There’s also a spa with a jacuzzi and a shower that doubles as a hammam, available for an hour and a half for €50. We’ll be back.

The town is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever visited, and the hotel is well placed for exploring it. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the service was excellent, and everything was very clean. Highly recommended.
