The staff were very friendly, which was the one bright spot. The hotel is overpriced for what it offers: there’s no coffee, food, or other service, and the noise from all directions is unbearable because sounds carry through the walls. The bathroom ventilation didn’t work, either. Getting to the bedroom and bathroom means hauling your suitcases up stairs inside the room.

The shower was good, the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable enough. The room itself feels straight out of the seventies, though, with a crooked cupboard, a slightly broken fridge, and a cracked bathroom door frame. The WiFi didn’t work. Lunch wasn’t great. The flans were burned, the fillets russos were genuinely disgusting, and most of the other dishes were just okay. Service was friendly but patchy, then tailed off into “my colleague will do that” territory. Spoiler: they didn’t. Cesar, if you’re reading this, don’t worry, it’s all good. The place was convenient for the retreat, and that’s what mattered. Nothing was terrible and our stay was fine, since we weren’t there as tourists. Still, there’s room for improvement as a hotel.

The shower was great, which helped make up for the heat in the room. The air conditioning wasn’t working, so it got pretty sauna-like, and I was too tired to ask about it or find the remote. The rooms are a bit dated, though I suppose the price was low. The bar and swimming pool are in the other building, and there’s a larger public pool around the corner. It’s a five-minute walk from town, where there are some nice tapas restaurants.

There’s something special about this hotel. The staff are wonderful and will help with whatever you need, no matter the hour. I love that pets are welcome. Give it a try, you’ll love it. Fantastic hotel with caring staff, and pets are welcome. I recommend it 100%.
