The view just outside the yard is lovely, with the estuary, changing tide, and waves you can hear. There are cliffs nearby to explore or surf, and plenty of nature and urban spots around. Santander is a 30 minute drive, and Picos de Europa is about an hour away. The host was incredibly friendly, the rooms cozy, and breakfast was nice. One of the best places I've ever stayed. Thanks for such a great experience!

Marina, the owner, is super nice, and the rooms are cozy, really clean, and have everything you need. The mattresses are very comfortable too. We could park inside the building, which has six car boxes. Breakfast was amazing, with juice and coffee plus a few different dishes to choose from. It's a short walk to downtown and five minutes by car to the beach. Driving to the beach also means more quiet at night. Great value, 10 out of 10. We'll definitely come back. Suances was a great base for walks, down to the beaches or along the beautiful estuary towards Torrelavega, with all kinds of birds to see. The Posada was amazing value, the staff were great, and breakfast was lovely. They gave us a different cake each day. I'd happily recommend it and hope to return. We stayed four nights, and the North of Spain was amazing from late September to early October. The weather was fabulous for most of our two weeks, with some sea drizzle as expected. We got around by bus and train, which were generally fine. Just watch out for some Alsa buses that need booking, especially the busy Irun to Santiago route. You can't pay the driver or board without a ticket. Ticket offices at smaller bus stations weren't always open, so we couldn't buy tickets there.
