Hotel Surfances

I'm visiting from LA, and this place makes Skid Row look like Beverly Hills. The building is outdated and the technology primitive. There was no AC, and the windows seemed not to have opened in years. After half an hour in this sabotage chamber, it was easy to see why it seemed so sparsely booked, even in summer. When I was about to sleep, I saw bed bugs crawling on my 1970s mattress under somebody's grandma's sheets. I was scared to sleep, wash my hands, or walk on the floor. An American Motel 6 would leave you feeling cleaner. Calling this a three-star hotel is a huge, huge overstatement.

The location is great, but the rooms are noisy, the beds are very uncomfortable, and the cleanliness could be better. There was no Wi-Fi. Several things here need improvement.

I just got back from a holiday here with Newmarket Travel, and all I can say is, “never again.” The beds were very comfortable and the staff were okay, but the food was awful. One night we had fish soup to start and fish for the main course. The soup had probably been made from the fish they served the night before. We ate at a local restaurant twice. Breakfast had no hot food except toast, which you had to make yourself. Come on, Newmarket, get the food at this hotel sorted.

There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and when I raised it, the staff did nothing. The meals made me sick, and there wasn't any fresh food. A terrible stay.
