Hotel Rural La Llosa de Fombona

Rosa and Esteban made us feel at home, and we'd love to come back. We had a perfect weekend, with great facilities and a location that was ideal for switching off.

Rosa and her husband treated us with such kindness and warmth. My children and I really enjoyed our stay and left delighted. The house has a special charm, and the hosts were attentive and welcoming. Outside, it was completely peaceful, with lovely scenery, cows, and friendly, sociable goats. A wonderful experience!

The location is fantastic, and the beds and mattresses were very comfortable. Still, for a 3-star hotel, €165 for the room plus breakfast at €10 per person felt excessive for what was offered. There aren't many amenities beyond the accommodation. We were asked to pay the remaining balance on arrival, as the policy says, but the way it happened made it feel like they thought we might leave without paying. There are tables and chairs in the meadow, as other guests have mentioned, yet picnicking is forbidden, which is hard to believe. Coffee, beer, and wine prices also seemed too high, especially with few other options nearby. The location can't be beaten, but management left a lot to be desired. A more generous, considerate approach to guests could make much better use of these facilities.

It was easy to get on the road from here and reach Avilés, Cudillero, Oviedo, and Gijón, and the beaches are close too. The countryside setting among animals is lovely, and the location is hard to beat. Our room was roomy and comfortable, and the owners gave outstanding personal service. Great value for money, and a good place to slow down and relax. In the morning, all you hear are cows, roosters, and goats.
