Hotel Costa Brava

The breakfast was a good part of the value. It was quite good, with three kinds of scrambled eggs, the usual sunny-side-up eggs, meats, sausage and bacon, pastries, toast breads, waffles, fresh fruit, fruit cocktail, cereal, juices, coffee, and more. We’ve paid as much as 15 euros per person for a lesser breakfast. We were glad the hotel had a room for us. A basic room in Barcelona was 500 euros and up for a night, and though we hadn’t especially planned to stay in Blanes, it saved us money. Traffic was heavy and parking hard to find. We dropped off our bags, then parked about a 10-minute walk away because the hotel’s parking was full. The room was basic but clean and adequate, and the people looking after us were pleasant and helpful. The location may cost it a star for some, but the beach is only a 5-minute walk away and being closer would have raised the price. The room wasn’t special, but it was just right for what we needed, a night’s sleep. The air conditioning was excellent.

Couldn’t sleep at all during our two-night stay. Traffic and motorcycle noise from the road beside the hotel was extremely loud every few seconds, from early morning until midnight. I really don’t recommend it.

The breakfast included with the stay had spoiled food, and the room and pool looked nothing like the photos. Things in the room were broken, including the hair dryer. I don’t understand the four stars, two at most if I’m being generous. It’s pathetic. For 50 euros more, you can book somewhere at least decent.

It’s easy to get to supermarkets, the sea, and the bus stop, while the area stays quiet at night. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and inexpensive, right in the center of Blanes. The room had a pretty big layout, air conditioning, a nice bathroom, and a balcony where you can sit with a drink. Breakfast is included in the room price. Staff were friendly, and there’s a nice pool with a terrace, open from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m.
