Casa Rural Las Trojes

Teresa's homemade bread was amazing, and her cooking was the best I had in Spain. The rooms are simple and clean, and staying there felt like being warmly welcomed into someone's home. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for somewhere away from the usual tourist route.

It was okay.

The breakfasts alone are a treat, with homemade cake or pastries and something else delicious straight from the oven. Dinner is worth trying too: the home-style dishes are original and so good that I always want to ask for the recipes, even though I know I couldn't make them the same way. The house is welcoming and so carefully looked after that I feel at home every time. Teresa greets you with a smile and makes everything easy. This was my third visit, and whenever I'm in the area I don't look anywhere else. It was a pleasure to return, and I'll be back again.

Teresa made sure we had a place and table to watch a Champions League match that evening, which I was grateful for. She was attentive, pleasant to talk with, and happy to share information about nearby sights. The rustic house felt welcoming, and breakfast was both delicious and generous: cookies, sponge cake, Grandma's French toast, jam, Cantueso honey, fresh orange juice, and coffee with milk in a mug. I told her I don't usually eat breakfast, but those treats were hard to resist. The location also makes a good base for exploring the Black Villages and the beautiful natural scenery.
