Casa Rural Marga

Handy stop for a trip toward northern Spain, with Huesca about 20 minutes away.

Marga is such a lovely person, and the place makes you feel at home.

We shared the white prawn and duck rice, which was cooked just right and full of flavor. Half a paella pan was plenty for the three of us, and the portions in general were generous. Earlier, we had spectacular anchovies, perfectly cured beef jerky, and delicious chorizo tartare. Dessert was ice cream and homemade donuts, with coffee and orujo on the house. The service was warm and attentive, and they explained every dish really well. The restaurant is in a beautifully restored rural guesthouse. It isn’t cheap, but the food is worth the price. You need to book. We’ll be back.

The intimate, rustic setting, with only a few tables, made the visit feel personal and memorable. The wine selection and pairings were impressive too. At Asador Galino Pueyo in Tardienta, chef Miguel Galino brings real command of the fire and ingredients to traditional grilling, giving it a contemporary touch. The menu features excellent fish, quality meats including Wagyu and local beef cuts, and fresh market fish. The dishes, often inventive and surprising, show technique and creativity while keeping the ingredients’ flavors at heart. Its 1 Repsol Sun award reflects how this once local gem has become a leading food destination in Spain. For anyone who values fine ingredients and care in every detail, it’s a place well worth visiting in Los Monegros and across Aragon.
