H10 Imperial Tarraco

We’ll be back, everything else was excellent. Dinner service from the ladies was nice, though not every dish that came out was great. And hotels, including this one, need to stop using bathroom doors that don’t close properly or are semi-transparent. They offer no privacy, and nobody likes that design.

The room was clean, updated and stocked, and we had an awesome view of the sea and Roman Amphitheatre. The staff were so friendly. We loved our stay and only wished we’d had more days there.

The location was excellent, with perfect views. It’s a comfortable hotel, the breakfast was plentiful and good quality, the pools were clean with plenty of loungers, and reception staff were friendly and very helpful. We were a group of eight and hoped to meet at the rooftop bar each evening for a drink before going out. After the second night we gave up, because the two or sometimes three staff ignored us completely. On another day, two of us wanted drinks and lunch by the downstairs pool, but couldn’t find any staff at first. When we finally ordered, the condiments arrived after we’d finished lunch. Three of us tried again another day and were told to order at the rooftop bar. Service was extremely slow there too, and we had to carry the food and drinks down to the pool ourselves. There were conferences and weddings during our stay, which seemed to take up all the staff. For a hotel of this quality, I’d expect enough staff to keep service good for hotel guests. It’s an excellent hotel, but the bar and waiting staff let it down.

We visited Tarragona in February 2024 and also wanted to see Monastery of Poblet. This hotel made a great base, very comfortable and in an excellent spot. Our suite was on a higher floor, with tremendous views of the sea, amphitheater and old city. The room comforts, bed and bathroom were all super. The Cathedral and historic center are within walking distance, and driving is easy since the hotel has its own parking. The spaces were a bit tight but manageable. Breakfast was quite good too. If we come back to Tarragona, we’ll stay here again. Highly recommend!
