We had a great week using the apartment as a base for driving around Gran Canaria, and the price felt like good value. It was roomy enough for our family of four, with a big balcony, free Wi-Fi and a welcome pack that was a nice touch. The kitchen had the plates, cutlery, cups and pans we needed, and the bathroom washing machine was simple to use. The sofa bed, though, was a bit too small. A few things would make me think twice about staying again. The place felt empty and almost abandoned, as if it might close at any moment. The pool was shut, and the Spanish closure notice didn’t sound very reassuring from what we could make out. We also couldn’t park near the apartments all week, so we walked up the hill from the free parking below. That route felt unsafe, with no streetlights and big holes in the pavement. We stayed for a week at the end of August 2017.

The sunset over the Atlantic is magical, and the views are fantastic. It’s so quiet here, I could see myself living here soon.

Rosa at the bar and restaurant really made the holiday for us. She’s so welcoming and cheerful, always wearing a big smile, and she’s talented in the kitchen too. The pool was lovely, and it’s a great place for a relaxed stay. Definitely recommend it, enjoy!

The first room we were given was a mess. Water kept shooting out of the sink even when we tried to turn it off, and the bed was nearly falling apart. We spent the first night sleeping on the floor. The next day, though, the service was great: they moved us to another room with a nice bed and a lovely view. They handled it really well.

The views are great, but with the pool closed indefinitely, as I already knew it would be, the bar and food service on site are closed too. It feels like a ghost town, and Taurito has very few places to eat or drink. You really need a car, but the old road to Puerto Mogan has subsided, so getting there means a long drive on the motorway or an expensive taxi. They need to fix the pool or the place will die.
