Hotel Hacienda de Abajo - Adults Only

The hotel is within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Tazacorte. The grounds, with palms and plants around a lovely pool, were a pleasure, and inside it was very clean, filled with antiques and historical artefacts. Staff were attentive, helpful, and courteous, and service at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Both meals were good. It was a pleasant, relaxing stay. Tea-making facilities in the rooms would have been useful, as would a TV channel in English.

We tried both breakfast and dinner and thought the cuisine was excellent. The friendly, helpful staff made the stay relaxed and wonderful. The hotel is a beautiful historic building, restored with care, with antique furniture and decoration throughout. Its lush tropical garden has a heated pool and jacuzzi. We can't recommend it highly enough. Fabulous!

We spent several days by the pool this week instead of heading out every day because the place was so comfortable and relaxing. I also booked a professional massage, which was excellent. The garden is full of flowers and tropical trees, the pool area is great and has a jacuzzi, and breakfast each morning was lovely. Artistic details fill the historic building, and the professional staff helped make the stay perfect. The hotel is surrounded by banana fields and has a great location in Tazacorte, close to the small boulevard with plenty of places for food and drinks and a nice ocean view. There's a quiet beach nearby down some stairs, and the more touristy Tazacorte beach is five minutes away by car. The rest of La Palma is easy to reach too, and the island is beautiful. Our spacious room had historic touches like large wall paintings and was cleaned daily. A Nespresso coffee machine in the room would be a nice addition, and the beds felt a bit narrow, more queen-size than king-size. Those details didn't affect our mood, though. We'll definitely return, hasta luego!

The place is beautiful and the staff are very nice, but I don't think the price matches what you get. We found both the room and bed small. There was no soundproofing, and every time a neighbor flushed, it woke us up. Too much light came in because the window had no blackout covering. The room was cold, and when we tried to heat it, there was a burnt smell, so we couldn't use the heating. We weren't offered another room either. Unfortunately, we slept poorly and can't honestly recommend it.
