Hotel Cortijo San Ignacio

It’s a small, relaxing place in a lovely old building with a garden. The view outside isn’t especially good, though you don’t really have to face it. Once inside, it feels like a separate, cozy little world. It’s also a handy base for exploring the island by rental car. I slept well, and the breakfasts were good, especially nice.

December 2024. The rooms were okay, though a bit old and not very spacious. There’s no AC or fan, which would be awful in summer. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. There wasn’t enough food for everyone, and what was there was horrible, very cheap, with no healthy options apart from a kiwi that was ten days old. When we asked for more because there was barely enough left for one of us, they said nothing else was available, even though breakfast had another hour to go. Especially frustrating since this isn’t a cheap hotel.

My son and I stayed here for golf, which is right next door. The hotel is very quiet and welcoming. It’s a bit in the middle of nowhere, so without a car you’ll need taxis everywhere, but Diego was fantastic at arranging them. If you’re after peace and quiet, this is the place.

Such a serene, beautiful place, with comfy rooms and beds. Housekeeping is great. It’s a shame the receptionists only speak Spanish, but Google Translate helps 😉
