Carlos was a delight, and we had a 10/10 stay overall. The property is locked, so the grounds felt safe, and the children had a puzzle to work on, even though quite a few pieces were missing. Outside, there’s a barbecue and a wood-fired oven. We stayed for three days as a family. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a blender that surprised me, and they’d left out coffee and sugar even though I’d brought my own. The beds were comfortable, the rooms stayed warm, and the house had all the comforts. My only gripes were the open shower, which got a bit cold, and the low water pressure. I’ll be back.

Although the owners were friendly, the stay was awful. I lost the €65 reservation payment and the food we had to throw away, so that one night ended up costing as much as a luxury hotel, maybe more. I’d told the owner I wasn’t going to post a review, but I think people should know what happened and whether anything has improved. We booked the small house for four people for seven nights at €665. Communication with the owners had been perfect. We paid the remaining €600 when we arrived, after he showed us the house, which we liked. But right away there was a powerful smell of insecticide, like bug spray, mixed with damp. We’d brought food from home because we didn’t plan to cook much. When we put it in the fridge and freezer, we found the appliance wasn’t clean. The children went to play in the yard, where there were lots of wasps. I wiped the porch table before we had coffee and found it was much dirtier than just dusty. I had to throw away the cloth I’d used. As we started using things, it became clear that everything was really dirty: the sofa, chairs, cushions, drawers, cupboards, kitchen utensils, living room blinds, walls, and bathroom. There was mold in the bathroom and bedrooms, too. We also saw a large wasp nest on the property, which explained the wasps and made it feel unsafe for us and the children. That night, cockroaches showed up in the main bedroom. I suppose that explained the “cockroach” smell when we arrived. We also saw crickets and tarantulas, the usual sorts of country bugs, and those hadn’t worried us, but the cockroaches meant we couldn’t sleep or rest. We ended up spending the night in our car. We left the next day because the place felt dirty and unsanitary. We threw away all the food we’d brought and bought, fearing it had been contaminated, which was a significant financial loss. It was such a shame, because with a little care the house and grounds could have been in perfect condition. It needed cleaning, painting, replacing the missing blinds and cleaning or replacing the ones still there, mold removal and treatment, fumigation, and general upkeep of the grounds. That’s all it would take to make it a perfect place to stay. We contacted the owners, who said this had never happened before. We asked for our money back, and late that afternoon they returned €600 of the €665. We didn’t press them for the difference because we wanted to get out and find somewhere else to sleep quickly. They offered us a place in the other house, but even though it was late, we preferred to find other accommodation.

The owner was very friendly and easy to reach if we needed anything, and the stay was a pleasure. It’s a peaceful country spot, about 10 minutes from central Teruel, with lovely walks through the nearby fields. The house was spotless and well kept inside, and the beds were very comfortable. The fenced yard seemed safe for children to play freely, with no obvious hazards. You share the garden with the other house, so it’s best to be considerate of the other guests.

The location worked really well, less than ten minutes from Dinópolis and central Teruel. The house was clean and had everything we needed, and Carlos was attentive and very friendly. He even recommended a fantastic restaurant. It’s set on a fenced property where children can play freely, making it a good fit for families. I’d recommend it and would return without hesitation.

Carlos was attentive and ready to sort out anything that came up right away. My family and I spent a week here, and my parents enjoyed it a lot too. The house had everything we needed. We had a fantastic stay, highly recommend it.
