Villa Vista Mar

A nice place to stay.

The bathrooms had an awful smell that made it hard to sleep, apparently from poorly maintained pipes and the septic tank. The bedrooms also felt neglected, dusty and old. For the price, photos, and location, I expected a “Luxury Villa,” but that impression fell apart once we went inside. Shared spaces didn’t look any better. The sofas were in poor shape, the kitchen didn’t have enough utensils, and the refrigerator doors were missing handles. The complimentary towels smelled bad and were in such poor condition that bringing your own seems advisable. The leisure equipment was neglected too, from the worn loungers and mattresses to the pool and foosball tables. I can’t say privacy was complete: there are security cameras inside the house, and the property manager also showed up without warning. I’d recommend treating the property for insects and cockroaches.

We had a really enjoyable time here, with beautiful views of the reef during pleasant evenings and sunsets. The kitchen was spacious, nice, and well set up, so we could make croquettes and tiramisu without feeling limited. They also let us bring pets and friends. I brought my friend and my pet, Tewa, a penguin who adapted surprisingly well to the Canary Islands landscape. It was a very enjoyable experience, and I’d recommend it for friends, family, and pets.

There’s loads of space in this spectacular house, with a pool, billiards, table football, and petanque. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, but still easy to get to.
