Michael and his wife made us feel like family. When we headed to Madrid on an early train for the day, Michael even texted to check everything was okay. He'd already given us a map and lots of useful tips at check-in. Our spotless room had a balcony overlooking the cathedral and busy street, but closing the sliding glass door kept the noise out.

Miguel was great about suggesting places to visit and eat, and helped arrange a taxi to Madrid Airport for Sunday morning. The inn is near Toledo's cathedral and centre, with six rooms in all, two per floor. Rooms have private bathrooms, Wi-Fi and air conditioning. In the morning there are free pastries and Nespresso coffee from 0730-1130. We really enjoyed our stay.

We went out to different restaurants for breakfast since none is served here. The bathroom was very nice overall, though the shower seemed a bit like an afterthought. The double-glazed windows kept the room quiet, and one day we found a little bottle of sparkling wine in an ice bucket. Our host was personable and gave us maps, sightseeing tips and advice on where to buy Toledo's special entrance tickets. Toledo is a must-see, and this hostel worked more than fine for us.

The hosts were really friendly and the service was great. With everything Toledo has to offer close by, this is probably the best small hotel in the city.

During our three-month trip through Spain and Portugal, this was one of our nicest stays. Miguel and Gema were genuinely lovely and so helpful. Don't hesitate, just stay here.
